This further validates the intense interest in the Smart-Apply Intelligent Spray Control System. Horticulture as a whole is embracing new and innovative solutions to protect our environment and sustainably feed the world’s growing population. We're excited to be introducing this cutting-edge technology to the New Zealand market."
Dixon commented further, "BA Pumps & Sprayers has been committed to ‘best spraying practices’ throughout our 30-year history. Our ongoing focus is to lead the industry in terms of sustainable and precision spraying practices. Our partnership with Smart Guided Systems demonstrates our continued commitment to offering advanced technology to the grower while providing positive stewardship to our whenua.”
The precision sprayer, which is available on new or existing air blast sprayers uses a LiDAR sensor to create a digital representation including height, width, spacing, and density of each plant or tree as it passes, which is then used to control each spray nozzle independently delivering a host of benefits:
· Up to 73% reduction of spray consumption
· Up to 87% reduction in spray loss beyond tree canopies
· Reduced airborne drift
· 93% reduction in spray loss on the ground
· As effective or better crop protection
The system is available as standard on BA Pumps & Sprayers ‘Smart Spray’ range or can be retrofitted to growers’ existing air blast spray equipment.
